how-to video this time. I'm going to be making a video on how to scrape custom box art to Arc browser or any front-end that you'd like to scrape your data for.
So what I'm going to be doing is running you through how to use a program called a EMU movie sync, which allows you to sync all the box art for your download Roms. First, you need to log on to the EMUmovies.com website and download the software. I'm not going to do this because I've already got it software, but you will need to run through the actual installer and once it installed you should get a nice icon on your Desktop. Links to the Programs I use will be added into the description below So please check. Now we're going to be Opening EMU movies sync by double-clicking on the EMU movie sync icon on the desktop. you'll notice that I will get a pop up asking me do I want to only display the updates? I will say no. Next is click on the login information tab.
Now if you have created a login for EMUmovies, then you can enter your username and password or what you can do is go back to their website and register for their forums and create a log in. So that you can use this software. One thing to bear in mind is it you don't need to be a paid member. In order to download any of the box-art on the download tab. Once you've clicked on the download tab, you'll need to also make sure you know where you've stored. Your files. I have stored my files on the desktop under a folder called Roms and as you can now see I have a few games that I'd like to scrape. What we're going to be doing is we're going to be scraping that Nintendo DS game that I've got in the Nintendo DS folder and also as you can see there is a folder called box art
This is where we're also going to be storing our Box Art from EMUmovies sync. What you're going to do next is select the system that you're trying to scrape the data for. Now what we're going to be selecting Nintendo DS so under this option that says the system, click on the drop-down menu and select Nintendo DS as our system to scrape. We need to change the folders that we are Going to be using now we're going to start with the games directory What you want to do is right next to the option that says match rom folder is to click on browse Once you clicked on browse, you will select desktop then ROMs and then the system you want Make sure that the file that you're using a named correctly This will mean renaming them to whatever the name of the game is so that the software can pick up the game Box Art.
Next What you need to do is where it says download folder. Next to that, you'll see a button that says browse press brows select the appropriate folder In my case will be desktop\ROMs\boxatr. Once you selected that press okay and we're ready to start scraping your screen. Now. What we're going to do next is select the available media option. Click on the dropdown box and I'm going to be selecting 3D Box Art because that's what I like to use, but you can use any of these options to download whatever you need now click go button Now, once you click on the go button, it will start your download. It should download all the box art for your games if they are named correctly. The only thing to bear in mind is this will take time depending on your internet connection and how many games you have in the folder where the roms are stored.
Now, this was on my desktop and a ROMs and box art. Now they should be a fold-up called Nintendo DS go into there and you should see the box art you just downloaded for Nintendo DS game. What you can now do is you can double click on the file just to see the picture itself and make sure it has got the one you where trying to scrape. now we are going to be copying the box art onto our device? But before we do that, we need to make sure that the box art is named correctly. Now the file name needs to be modified, you need to add _box to the end of your file This will allow arc browser to be able to pick up the artwork that you've named your box art to the correct format. You now need to copy your box, our file to your device with the game that you want to use it with.
So to do that you need to right-click on the box art and select copy next we are going to go to where our Nintendo DS game is stored and we're going to paste the box art into the same folder as the Nintendo DS game. Now the files are in the same folder What you'll need to do is highlight both the files and right-click on both files select copy Now located your device that you want to install the games onto What you're going to need to do is look on the left-hand side. In my case, I'm going to be using my GPD XD, so I click on the GPD XD on the left-hand side and underneath that, I can then say my SD Card, which is 400 gigabytes in size, so I'm going to be double-clicking on that. then looking for a folder that called Nintendo DS
You need to open that up, wait for it to load any information that it needs to load. Then right-click on any of the white space and select paste. This will enable you to paste in your newly created box art and game when it is finished copying We will then be able to go to your Android device In my case I'll be using my GPD XD and we can go into arc browser so we can see that the data has been added into arc browser and see if it has loaded. The artwork that we just loaded. What you'll need to do is scroll down to the way you see Nintendo DS and then we're going to be looking for the game that we are. As you can see the box site has loaded and it did work.
There are some instances where you may find the box art wasn't load and what I'm going to be doing is going through those settings in just a moment to show you what you need to do. If the Box art is not loading. What you need to do is you need to go to the main screen by going back and when you've gone back you need to scroll down to the bottom. The settings option. Under the settings option, you're going to need to be looking for an option that says global. Do you eye settings? Now, once you're onto the global UI settings, you'll then be able to have a look for an option. If you scroll down to where it says custom made IA location, once you open up custom media location, you'll then get an option that should be rom directory, everything in the same directory.
This will enable you to have any of the scraped data in your main rom directory for H did he appropriate settings. What you're going to need to do is now go through and check your box art. You should now say the box shows up. If not, then you may need to check your naming of the box art or making sure that you've copied all the files correctly on tutorial and helped you to get your arc browser set up and got you through some of the harder parts of arc browser that not many people tell you.
